When one of your daughters asks what you want for Mother's Day, it's okay to tell them. I said I wanted a corsage. Thanks, Mildred, for reminding me that this is a great day to wear one. Remember when families wore a flower on Mother's Day? Some would cut them out of the yard on the way to church. I loved mine. It made me feel special all day - - - just like I was supposed to cuz it was a day to celebrate me and the gifts God has given us - - our precious daughters.
Our younger daughter gave me the pendants below. She is the one who makes jewelry and knows I love these to wear individually on my silver necklace. She is great at picking colors and styles for me, too.
My sweetie-pie husband remembered that I wanted a radio/CD player. This one is also an alarm clock. It's only about 10 by 6 inches in size and less than 2 inches deep. It's fun how much technology can fit in a small space. The best part is he programmed it for me because I obviously wasn't understanding the simple directions.
And I usually don't talk about material things but wanted to share how my loved ones blessed me with items they knew would make me happy.
Another gift today was the gift of sharing lunch with friends and family. We were invited to Mamaw's again. She is our son-in-law's grandmother. His parents and sister's family were there, too. It was delicious as usual but just being with them is the best part of the meal.
And you know the expression - - - look what the cat drug in? Well, Kit Kat
found a playmate and brought it up onto our screened-in deck. I know it's probably part-rodent but we didn't want to see the cat kill a cute little chipmunk. It was definitely doing its best to avoid that fate, too. So we distracted Kit-Kat and showed Chip 'n' Dale's cousin the way back into the woods.
- - - and whether you are a mom or just the child of one, I pray you have had a wonderful day of celebration on this beautiful Sunday!

How sweet with the corsage and the jewelry! Very thoughtful gifts I do believe (in addition to the radio/CD player given by your husband!) Sounds like it was a very nice day to be honored by your daughters and hubby and to be able to spend time with dear family and friends!!
Happy Mother's Day!

That's a beautiful corsage and it sounds like you had a very nice day with family/friends. Hope you have a blessed week Lynda.
Very cute chipmunk. I'm glad you had a special day. :)
What a wonderful Mother's day post Lynda. Material gifts are to be celebrated in addition to the sparing of CHIP from his demise.
Glad you had a lovely day.
Oh, Lo had a beautiful wrist corsage for her prom on saturday....they are still in style. :)

Beautiful Mother's Day post, Lynda. We used to wear corsages on Easter and on Mother's Day --and Father's Day... Back in the day (years ago), we wore a red corsage if our mother was alive and a white one if she was dead.. I'm not sure anyone does that anymore...
Glad you had a wonderful day. We did also.
Hugs,
Betsy
looks like a great day for sure...
love the corsage
it was a great day here
warm and family together (o:
kitty and her friend are so cute.
You obviously had a wonderful Mother's Day. I remember when I was growing up that almost every woman in church had a corsage for Mother's Day. I think you could tell by the type of corsage if the woman's mother was still living. I don't see corsages in church very much anymore.
Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Your kitty is so cute....looks just like my daughter's cat named Luna.
A beautiful Mother's Day post :) Loved all your gifts.. I miss the tradition of corsages on Mother's Day. Your pendants are gorgeous too. AND, about that chipmunk.. bless your heart for the rescue! He/she is adorable (but so is kitty). Hubby says we do have them here, but never have I seen one.. just in southern MO. -Tammy

Your gifts were so great and each showed a lot of personal thought - that's always what means the most to me. So glad you had a happy celebration!
